Our compass
We advocate for useful, measurable, and explainable AI that empowers rather than replaces autonomy. Technology is never an end in itself: it must improve learning, decision-making, and work, without compromising fairness, privacy, or environmental sustainability. PRAGMA is an independent organization; our compass is human needs and the collective interest.
A transparent chain-of-thought
Concretely , we favor evidence rather than promises. We clarify objectives, measure real effects and share our methods when the framework allows it (transparency, reproducibility, open access). Saying what works, but also what does not, is part of our responsibility. We assume uncertainties , document limitations and ensure ethical and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, AI Act) without dogmatism.
Co-construction of sustainable uses
Our approach is multidisciplinary and cooperative : researchers, educators, public and private officials, and field teams. We co-construct sober, useful, and sustainable uses, seeking alignment between values, practices, and results. Moving forward with scientific rigor , a sense of reality, and a concern for the long term: this is how we want to make innovation sustainable— clear, fair , and truly practicable .
